Could it be that they don't want you to see how the height towers over all of the Exchange District?
Here is an article on 127 Bannatyne in this morning's Winnipeg Free Press. Joyanne Pursaga interviewed me after the yesterday's appeal hearing was postponed to Monday April 25th at 1:30.
Here is the developer's picture in the article. Hmm, no height issue here...
Here is an accurate picture, using the developer's actual plan, inserted into photos of neighbouring buildings, to scale:
Still not convinced of the massive height? Here is a rendering from the developer's plans submitted to the city:
Again, towering over the whole area, almost 2 ½ times the size of neighbouring buildings!
A huge thank you to the 230 people who have sent me emails in opposition. I have sent them all to each member of the committee and took the 2" bundle to the hearing yesterday.
The developers have the ear of the politicians, it is time they hear from us!
If you are opposed and haven't sent an email, please send me one at john@ResidentsOfTheExchangeDistrict.ca before Friday and I will include it.
Why would you not want more density? I understand that The Exchange District has a distinct look but there's nothing wrong with mixing new and old. They're not tearing down a heritage building. This is currently a surface parking lot. Time to unclench your NIMBY pearls.
